Helen Mirren Caligula (1979)…and a boat load of others), is one of those gals who you could put in pretty much any situation and she’ll do a good job acting-wise. In Winchester, Helen plays Sarah Winchester, and tells the somewhat true story of her life after the death of her husband and child. Believing that she is cursed, Sarah starts to build the Winchester Mystery House…a construction that would continue for 38 years!
This trailer takes things a bit further than actual events and appears to have some ghosts and gobblies added for good measure. Sarah apparently died in her sleep of heart failure (scared to death?) so I’m curious as to what route they are going to take in the film. Jason Clarke Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014) and Sarah Snook Jessabelle (2014) seem fairly solid in their respective roles. On the outset it looks like a good old fashioned creepy ghost story. Great for Friday or Saturday night streaming!
