Several months ago, we learned that Marvel was working on a TV series about the adventures of Marvel superhero Moon Knight. Now GeekTyrant reports speculations about characters that might appear on the show: Werewolf by Night and Bushman.
Werewolf by Night was the titular protagonist of the comic book in which Moon Knight made his first appearance in August 1975. His real name is Jack Russell and… Wait. Did somebody name a werewolf character Jack Russell? As in Jack Russell Terrier? Oh, for crying out loud. Anyway, Werewolf by Night tries to handle his curse and wield his powers to face supernatural evil. As for Bushman, he is a former mercenary and murder connoisseur who files his teeth to better chomp on people’s throats. Several months ago there were talks about the third character on the show – Stained Glass Scarlett, a former nun who becomes a vigilante.
It’s a strange cast of characters, though not as strange as Moon Knight himself. While his origin story changed through the decades, Moon Knight is most often portrayed as a former CIA agent and mercenary Marc Spector. Left for dead in the African desert, Spector stumbles upon an ancient tomb of Konshu, the Egyptian god of the moon and revenge. This ancient deity grants him supernatural powers… and multiple personality disorder. Spector returns to the USA and develops two separate identities: that of a millionaire playboy Steven Grant as well as Jake Lockley, a cab driver.
