THE BOYS Official Trailer #2
The second trailer for Amazon’s adaptation of Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s comic book The Boys has been released. The series premiering July 26, 2019 star Karl Urban as the leader of a group of vigilantes who set out to take down corrupt superheroes.
Well now…this certainly was visceral. It looks like Amazon is taking full advantage of the freedoms their streaming platform allows. You won’t see someone’s head splattered between some lady’s legs on Disney+ that’s for sure.
I wonder how accurate this is to the source material. I suppose I’ll have to do some research now, harrumph. It could be my imagination but do I detect a subversive thread running just underneath the proceedings? The only question is…what are they attempting to subvert?
SWAMP THING Teaser Trailer
Next up is DC Universe’s Swam Thing teaser. We just did a story on the adjustment made for the green king of the bayou. The series will be here before you know it with a release date of May 31st.
Join the DC Universe now! Heh heh…ahh, almost DC, almost. I’ll wait for the inevitable aggregate streaming service.
HOBBS AND SHAW Official Trailer #2
The spinoff from the highly popular Fast and the Furious series Hobbs and Shaw starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham has a second trailer for viewer consumption. Directed by David Leitch (John Wick) and written by Chris Morgan (who is credited on several FF movies) sees our bombastic boys teaming up to take down a cyber-genetically enhanced international terrorist (Idris Elba).
Hobbs and Shaw explode theaters August 2nd.
This…seems silly. The Fast and the Furious films had their comedic moments but it looks like Vin Diesel clearly was the one who made sure there was a definitive edge to it. This…looks like they’ve completely driven off the reservation. A super-powered Idris Elba is the kind of topping that makes this goofball cake barely Saturday morning stream-worthy.
“I’m black Superman”
Someone actually typed those words in a document…and then they saved it. Think about that.
Sadly the movie will probably make a billion dollars…because our school systems have failed us.
