Like a rotting abomination that’s refusing to die, zombie horror series The Walking Dead keeps shambling on. On October 5, just a day before the premiere of its tenth season, AMC’s rating darling was renewed. Its spinoff – Fear the Walking Dead – is still going strong five years after it first aired. And just like the undead corpses on the show, the franchise keeps spreading the contagion.
According to the GeekTyrant, AMC released the first teaser trailer for its second The Walking Dead spinoff, titled The Walking Dead: World Beyond. Set a decade after the zombie apocalypse, the series will focus on the first generation of teenagers to come-of-age in the ruins of our world. Show’s cast will feature, among others, Scott Adsit (30 Rock), Natalie Gold (Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead), Annet Mahendru (The Americans), Julia Ormond (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) and Nico Tortorella (The Following). The series was created by Scott M. Gimple, who started as a writer on The Walking Dead and then became its executive producer and showrunner for four seasons. Its pilot episode will be directed by Jordan Charles Vogt-Roberts (Kong: Skull Island).
The Walking Dead: World Beyond will premiere in Spring 2020.
