Rosemary Rodriguez is a TV and movie director who worked on TV shows like Castle, Criminal Minds, Elementary, Jessica Jones, Law & Order, Rescue Me, and – most recently The Walking Dead. This week, she confirmed on Twitter plans to direct a Walking Dead movie focusing on the character Rick Grimes (played in the series by Andrew Lincoln). According to GeekTyrant, she hinted that the Rick Grimes film might be coming out next year.
Based on the comic book series by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard, The Walking Dead became a hit TV series on AMC a decade ago. While the original show is ending after eleven seasons, it has created several spinoffs such as 2015’s Fear the Walking Dead. 2020 saw the premiere of the second spinoff, helmed by Matthew Negrete and The Walking Dead: World Beyond. And finally, AMC recently announced a currently untitled spinoff focusing on characters Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride). That show will be helmed by Angela Kang and Scott M. Gimple.
