I was disappointed with Stephen Kings IT. I didn’t like the way they bastardized some of the characters (Ben Hanscomb and Mike Hanlon making notable examples) and I thought they substituted short-term rewards “Jump scares” for lasting dread. It is a film that I believe will have a very short half-life.
I mention IT because there are those out there (I’m looking at you Grace Randolph) who think that the horror “adaptation” will steal the thunder of this series second season because both properties happen to star young people. Simplistic logic I know, but it’s out there.
Well, I don’t think that’s going to be an issue. It looks like the second season is strong enough to stand against any comparisons. And if I’m right, this property will be remembered long after the cash-grabbing killer clown has been forgotten.
