David Benioff and D.B.Weiss have signed on to write and produce more Star Wars films. These new films are not a continuation of the Skywalker saga or related to the films that Rian Johnson is supposed to write and direct.

I think I left Game Of Thrones around season 4 but from what I saw I didn’t get the impression these guys were uber liberal. Of course I could be very wrong, I don’t follow them on Twitter so they could completely be whacked out like so many others in Hollywood. But if they aren’t, I can’t help but to think this is a course correction for Disney regarding the property. According to Bob Iger they have been talking to the pair for ‘some time’ but I wonder if recent events led Disney to concede to whatever the guys wanted in order to seal the deal.
Whatever the case, it doesn’t look like we are going to see and end to these Star Wars films…for the remainder of our lives.
