Star Trek: Picard Renewed For Second Season

We’re still a month away from the première of Star Trek: Picard and CBS All Access has already renewed the show for a second season. According to Deadline, the show’s cast will also include Jonathan Frakes, Brent Spiner and Marina Sirtis from Star Trek: The Next Generation as well as Jeri Ryan from Star Trek: Voyager. Newcomers will include Isa Briones (American Crime Story), Santiago Cabrera (Heroes), Michelle Hurd (Ash vs Evil Dead), Alison Pill (American Horror Story), Harry Treadaway (Penny Dreadful) and Rebecca Wisocky (For All Mankind).

Star Trek: Picard was first announced in August 2018 when Patrick Stewart made a surprise appearance at the Las Vegas Star Trek Convention. But Alex Kurtzman, who worked on everything from Alias and Fringe to Sleepy Hollow and Limitless, is expanding the franchise into a shared cinematic universe. Besides a series of short films called Short Treks, there are now two animated TV shows in development. Finally, there are also plans for a new Star Trek show centered on Philippa Georgiou, a character portrayed on Discovery by Michelle Yeoh.
