During a press conference for ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ a ‘reporter’ clearly looking to push an agenda and start trouble asked director Quentin Tarantino why such a “talented actress/actor” like Margot Robbie had so few lines in the film.
Instead of lighting her up like a Christmas tree (which I would have done in the same position) Tarantino kept it fairly cool by simply stating: “I reject your hypothesis”. Which is probably for the best, this person was clearly baiting the director looking to create controversy where there was none and perhaps make a name for herself.
Robbie went on to humor the individual in her reply:
“I think the moments I was on screen gave a moment to honor Sharon. I think the tragedy was the loss of innocence. To show the wonderful sides of her could be done without speaking. I did feel like I got a lot of time to explore the character without dialogue, which is an interesting thing. Rarely do I get an opportunity to spend so much time on my own as a character.”
Know doubt the dirty, dirty smear merchants will be after Tarantino in force after this one.
