Amazon’s superhero series The Boys added four more actors to their already hefty cast. According to the article by GeekTyrant, among them are Sean Patrick Flannery (The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles), Miles Gaston Villanueva (Nancy Drew), and Nick Wechsler (Revenge). They will portray superhero characters named Gunpowder, Supersonic, and Blue Hawk, respectively. All of these characters have been created for the series by the show’s writers.
But that’s not all! BloodyDisgusting reports the show cast actress Laurie Holden (Silent Hill, The Walking Dead) as well. Unlike Flannery, Villanueva, and Nick Wechsler’s characters, she will portray a superhero from the original The Boys comic book by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. Crimson Countess possesses heat-related powers and may be in a relationship with at least one of the other super-powered characters.
The Boys is heading into a third season already bolstered by the addition of Jensen Ackles as the comic book character Soldier Boy. He previously collaborated with the showrunner Eric Kripke on the show that brought success to them – Supernatural. In addition, last autumn Amazon started developing a spinoff series focusing on America’s only college for young adult superheroes. That show will feature Lizze Broadway (The Rookie), Aimee Carrero (The Americans), Reina Hardesty (The Flash), Shane Paul McGhie (Unbelievable), Maddie Phillips (Teenage Bounty Hunters), and Jaz Sinclair (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina).
