Laurie Holden (Andrea in the The Walking Dead, Silent Hill (2006)) is building quite the horror resume. Her latest outing in the genre is a film by actor and director Adam Mcdonald Backcountry (2014) called Pyewacket (A witch’s familiar spirit). The film was screened last year at the Toronto International Film Festival in the Contemporary World Cinema section.
IMDB synopsis:
“A frustrated, angst-ridden teenage girl awakens something in the woods when she naively performs an occult ritual to evoke a witch to kill her mother. “
Laurie plays the would-be killed mother. Nicole Muñoz Tooth Fairy (2010), Christie from Defiance (TV) plays her daughter Leah.
Let’s take a look at the trailer:
Hmn, Laurie looks pretty good in this, maybe too good. Guess it’s hard to play down those smoldering eyes….where was I? Oh yes, it looks like a definite Saturday night rental. Even looks like there might actually be some spooky moments, so we’ll see.
Pyewacket starring Laurie Holden and Nicole Muñoz opens in theaters and VOD March 23rd.
