Creative duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller are working on a reboot of one of their early projects – an adult animated TV series Clone HighAccording to the GeekTyrant, Lord and Miller will develop a new version of this cartoon series for MTV, alongside its co-creator Bill Lawrence as well as one of the show’s original writers Erica Rivinoja (TrollsThe Addams Family).

The premise of Clone High is certainly original: there is a town in the US populated by clones of notable historical figures. While the Secret Board of Shadowy Figures wants to harness their various strengths and abilities, teenage versions of famous people are mostly busy acting like teenagers. The clone of Abraham Lincoln is competing with the clone of John Fitzgerald Kennedy for the attention of Cleopatra even as Joan of Arc has a secret crush on Abe. Also, Gandhi plays comic relief.

Filmed as an American-Canadian production, Clone High first aired on MTV in November 2002. It lasted a single 13-episode season. Bill Lawrence helped co-create shows like Spin CityScrubs, and Cougar Town. As for Lord and Mille, they later helped made movies like Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs21 Jump StreetThe Lego Movie, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
