BloodyDisgusting reports Paramount is already working on a third Quiet Place film. However, even though there have been talks about turning this successful horror franchise into a trilogy, this movie will be a spinoff. It will be directed by Jeff Nichols (Midnight Special, Take Shelter) based on ideas by John Krasinski, who wrote, directed, and starred in the first film. Furthermore, Paramount Pictures has already set a release date for the movie – March 31, 2023.
A Quiet Place came out in 2018. Its premise follows a married couple (played by Krasinki and his wife Emily Blunt) living in a post-apocalyptic world infested by alien monsters drawn to sounds. With its plotline heavily relying on sound and silence, A Quiet Place connected with the audience on the visceral level. Produced for a mere $20 million, it became a worldwide hit, with an overall box office gross of over $340 million. A Quiet Place Part II premiered last March, only to be immediately rescheduled as the COVID-19 pandemic swept the globe. It ultimately arrived in cinemas this May, where it immediately climbed to the top of the weekend box office.
