Now Jurassic World: Dominion Is Postponed As Well

In a week full of news about Hollywood executives nervously rescheduling releases, here’s another one. GeekTyrant says Universal just postponed the release of Jurassic World: Dominion. Mind you; its release was already about eight months away from now – June 11, 2021. But now, the studio pushed it even further to June 10, 2022.

This decision arrives mere days after Universal changed release dates for the James Bond film No Time to Die (to April 2, 2021) as well as the next Fast and Furious sequel F9 (to May 22, 2021). Warner Bros. rescheduled releases of a whole bunch of superhero movies with some of them (Shazam 2) pushed to 2023, and others (Black Adam) removed from the schedule entirely.

Cinemark – the owner of Regal Cinemas – responded by announcing it will once again close its cinemas. However, SlashFilm reports both AMC Theatres and Cinemark have pledged to stay open, even though there are currently no big titles coming to movie theaters. Also, the pandemic is in full swing, casting doubt how long will cinemas in metropolitan areas like New York or Los Angeles even operate before they get shut down again.
