Six former children that were adopted by billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves come together after his death. Each exhibited different abilities which prompted him to adopt them and start the Umbrella Academy in the hopes to raise them to one day save mankind. Reunited upon his passing, the six must work together to try to solve their father’s mysterious death and stop a global apocalypse.
