GeekTyrant reports British filmmaker Neil Marshall is getting ready for his next project – a horror action film called The Lair. Its plot follows RAF pilot Lt. Kate Sinclair after she’s shot down over the most dangerous and desolate part of Afghanistan. While looking for the nearest friendly base, she uncovers an abandoned bunker full of blood-thirsty half-human, half-alien creatures. With monsters waking up and hunting her, Kate founds temporary shelter in the US Army base. But will it hold out against the monsters?

Not much is known about The Lair beyond its premise, but it sure sounds like a Neil Marshall movie. He first gained notice in 2002 with his enormously entertaining horror actioner Dog Soldiers about a group of soldiers under siege by werewolves. From then on, Marshall kept producing solid B movie horror fare, hugely inspired by the 1980s horror filmmakers like John Carpenter. He directed horror movie The Descent, historical war film Centurion as well as post-apocalyptic action film Doomsday. And while Marshall’s take on Hellboy has been far from perfect, he also directed a number of solid episodes of TV shows like Black Sails, Constantine, Hannibal, Game of Thrones, and Westworld.
