More and more TV and film productions are being halted and postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While we already reported this on Friday, the list kept growing over the weekend.
Studios postponed the release of several upcoming titles, including horror movies A Quiet Place Part II, Antlers, live-action remake of Mulan, superhero film New Mutants and the ninth installment in the Fast and Furious series. Production of new films has also been halted, including The Batman, Guillermo del Toro’s Nightmare Alley remake, Jurassic World: Dominion and Marvel’s Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings.
Streaming service Netflix decided to suspend production on all of its projects, including the fourth season of Stranger Things, until further notice. Disney+ also stopped the production of sixteen different TV pilots. Additionally, filming of Marvel TV shows Loki and WandaVision was halted. Apple TV+ suspended the production of all its shows, including For All Mankind, Lisey’s Story, See, The Morning Show and Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet. FX stopped filming Atlanta and Fargo, while The CW shut down the production of The Flash, Batwoman, Supergirl, and Lucifer. NBCUniversal suspended production of about 35 different shows, including Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., Chicago Med, Law & Order: SVU and New Amsterdam.
All Disneyland theme parks have been closed to the public due to fears of spreading COVID-19 among the visitors and tourists. Broadway is closing entirely as well as Major League Baseball and Major League Soccer.
