Master Chief Gears Up For Action As Halo Live Action Series Is Green-lit By Showtime

A 10 episode order for Halo has been made by Showtime. Halo, of course, is the mega-popular first-person shooter video game from Bungie/Microsoft that ushered in Microsoft’s X-box gaming console.  The game has sold more than 77 million copies and has grossed more than $5 billion dollars.

    Synopsis:

The series centers on an interstellar war between humanity and a theocratic alliance of aliens known as the Covenant.

Rupert Wyatt, the director of the only Planet of the Apes movie from the recent trilogy that I liked (the others sucked big-time) Rise of the Planet of Apes (2011) will direct several of the episodes while  Kyle Killen, known for creating TV shows like Awake and Lone Star will serve as showrunner, writer and executive producer.

    Production begins early 2019.

I don’t know much about Kyle Killen…except two of his shows were canceled…but I really liked Rise of the Planet of the Apes. I have a good feeling about his involvement. So I might actually check this one out…fingers crossed.
