Netflix has dropped an official trailer for the Punisher.
After the first few seconds (or more specifically, “cords”) I am reminded of the Logan trailer that caused so much buzz.
I’m sure this is deliberate…but I don’t know if it bothers me or not…aping Fox, that is.
On continued viewing, the tempo picks up and so does the bloody action.
…upon finishing…Hmn. Soo up against some evil CIA guy, the FBI, and Homeland Security.
Basically…government. Punisher against the government.
Ya know, I try to not to read too much into things…or be a conspiracy theorist…but Marvel has been making some very disturbing decisions regarding the integration of their “politics” into their Comic Book storylines lately, others have gone to war against them for it (shout out to “Diversity and Comics” on YouTube who has been fighting the good fight).
I’ve been seeing it seep into their Netflix shows too, and I am none-too-pleased. In fact, I’ve been extremely disappointed with the Marvel series so far (save for the first season of Daredevil). For me, this is their last chance before I declare war on them myself.
It’s been a long time since I’ve read a Punisher comic but when I did, his chief enemy was criminal scum, not government agencies or police officers.
Marvel needs to get it together…this better not turn out to be some Antifa slugs wet dream or they are dead to me.
