    Marvel Reshuffles Its releases… Again

GeekTyrant reports Marvel is changing its release calendar again. Sony and Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 is now postponed until November 5th, 2021 – a slot formerly occupied by Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. That movie, in turn, has yet another new release date – March 25, 2022. On the other hand, Thor: Love and Thunder now comes out one week forward – February 11, 2022, instead of February 18.

Just weeks ago we reported how the coronavirus outbreak changed release dates of all upcoming Disney and Marvel movies, starting with Black Widow. Initially slated for a release on May 1, 2021, that movie is now coming out on November 6, 2020. However, it is becoming increasingly likely its release date might change again.

Marvel and Disney already postponed a number of their releases twice in one month. This shows the havoc caused in Hollywood by the worldwide pandemic of COVID-19. While politicians are talking about re-opening the economy, it doesn’t look like the people running the entertainment industry are buying this. Instead, they are increasingly postponing their insanely expensive blockbusters to 2021 and, in some cases, all the way to 2022. You don’t do that if you genuinely believe that cinemas will be re-opening soon or that life will be returning to normal any day now.
