GeekTyrant says Luis Guzmán will portray Gomez Addams in the latest adaptation featuring creepy and kooky, mysterious and spooky Addams family. Guzmán is a Hollywood veteran whose career spans at least three decades. Throughout his career, this versatile actor appeared in comedies (Welcome to Collinwood, We’re the Millers), dramas (Boogie Nights, Magnolia), and crime thrillers (Out of Sight, Snake Eyes, The Limey).
The most recent Addams Family project is a live-action TV series produced by Netflix. Titled Wednesday, the show will focus on the adventures of Wednesday Addams after she leaves her family’s haunted mansion to attend the prestigious Nevermore Academy. Jenna Ortega, who is no stranger to appearing in horror movies (Insidious: Chapter 2) and dark comedies (The Babysitter: Killer Queen), will play the lead character.
The series has been in development for some time now. Creators of Smallville Al Gough and Miles Millar both created the show and wrote an eight-episode first season. In addition, filmmaker Tim Burton (Batman, Big Fish) will also serve as one of the showrunners and executive producers while directing several episodes.
