I thought that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was a so-so superhero film with two highlights: Batman and Wonder Woman.
I thought the Martha Kent rescue scene had some of the best Batman fight choreography put to film. Period. It was the Dark Knight as I had always envisioned he’d move.
Fluid, with terrifying brutality. I was also impressed with how Wonder Woman’s fight scenes were handled. I’m still not crazy about Gal Gadot, but the most I can say is that it could’ve been a lot worse. I had some problems with the Wonder Woman film, but overall, I would rate it a solid B.
Now on to Justice League…
I hope all the posing…and the slow motion…and the music…are not in the movie. I really, really do. It’s…extremely cheesy, it’s a super-hero movie not a perfume commercial.
I don’t recognize the bad-guy. I thought it was supposed to be Darkseid, but it doesn’t look like Darkseid…and I don’t remember Darkseid jumping around all that much…or at all. I could search for spoilers but I’m going to wade in ignorant. My impressions…looks expensive. Lot’s of action…but lot’s of grandstanding too. Camera aping. One of the few detractions I found in The Avengers ( 2012 ).
I’ll see it. I imagine I won’t be alone. Will I regret it? That remains to be seen.
Justice League starring Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Henry Cavill, Jason Momoa and many, many more will be voguing into theaters November 17th.
