“You will see more Dinosaurs than you ever saw before”
It’s statements like this that make me wonder if producers, directors, studio execs live on the same planet that I do. Oh, well, more Dinosaurs, yeah, that’s what was missing from the last movie. Regurgitated story-line, hackneyed plot. overall absence of purpose for the film in general, I thought maybe those were the things that turned me off about the last film.
But you know, perhaps I’m not the demographic for this particular series. I admit, Dinosaurs in and of themselves lost their appeal for me sometime during the 6th grade. I used to be big on the Triceratops…alas, the thrill is gone. I suppose it would take a high level of mental gymnastics to get me interested in a story dealing with Dinosaurs these days. Off the top of my head I’m thinking maybe a planet where some space travelers get stranded and find that the big D’s are thriving and at the top of the food chain…hi-jinks ensue. Or perhaps a world where “most” of the Dinosaurs have evolved into a humanoid form and we have some outlandish political, civil, interplanetary upheaval with some major league humanoid-dinosaur on humanoid-dinosaur carnage. Or..well, I could go on and on.
But hey, if the “silly scientists keep making Dinosaurs” motif works for most people who am I to disagree. Like the man says in this latest trailer for the Jurassic World 2 movie, there’s going to be more Dinosaurs; and Jeff Goldbloom…for…reasons.
Jurassic World 2 starring Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jeff Goldblum and the requisite amount of minorities stampedes its way into theaters June 22, 2018.
