The hype train on Resident Evil continues as word is spreading of a Netflix series in development. Deadline reports that the German film production company ‘Constantin Film’ is the studio behind it. This same studio is responsible for the Resident Evil movies loosely based on the Capcom video game series. As for what the show will be about:
“The drama series will explore the dark inner workings of the Umbrella Corporation and the new world order caused by the outbreak of the T-virus”.
The studio is still searching for a showrunner. Aside from that there’s not much more information to work with at the moment, but we’re definitely excited to see what Netflix will cook up given how popular the Castlevania series has been. Netflix has proven they are able to make a good video game to TV series.
