I-Marcus News Briefs: The Brie Larson Backlash Wave Gains Momentum, Kotaku UK Finally Issues An Apology and Charlize Theron Has No Business Being A Parent

The Brie Larson Backlash Wave Gains Momentum

Anyone who read my Captain Marvel review knows that I think Brie Larson interjecting the toxic ideology of intersectionality and identity politics into the superhero entertainment medium was less than appreciated.

Many who touted the success of the film financially don’t quite understand how backlash waves work. Backlash waves do not hit immediately, they take time to form. They gestate and metastasize within the geek community as each and every slight and insult is analyzed, categorized, labeled and archived.

Consensus forms and the wave begins to move in a concerted direction with more and more joining in as its goal is given purpose and vigor. When the wave finally hits the results can be devastating (See Star Wars: Solo’s box office and the continuous, to this very day, animus directed at the film Star Wars: The Last Jedi).

Places like Twitter become a war zone. Actors and directors are harried mercilessly. Journalist are lambasted. Things get very, very ugly.

A backlash wave is forming for Brie Larson.

Many articles and You-tubers are reporting about alleged riffs she is having with her costars during the latest Avenger’s film press tour. Whether or not these riffs are real or imagined is beside the point. What matters is that hating Brie Larson and hate for Brie Larson drives interest. Hating Brie Larson is good for business. That is a bad place for a person to be. She has awoken the beast by spouting her ugly ideology and nothing see does or says is going to satiate it until the backlash wave runs its course. And if you haven’t figured it out by now…backlash waves last a long, long time.

I almost feel sorry for her…almost.

Kotaku UK Finally Issues An Apology

On April 18th, the video game website and blog Kotaku published an article entitled “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s Persona 5 DLC Includes a Disability Slur” where the author Laura Kate Dale proceeded to accuse one of the games protagonist Joker of saying the word “retarded” in a song on one of the music tracks “Wake Up, Get Up, Get Out There”.

Yes, this is news. They actually wrote an article about it. Yes, they were hoping to throw a slab of red meat to their fellow rabid SJWs. Hoping to drum up controversy and have the pink-haired horde descend upon Nintendo like a pack of locusts in the old testament.

Only one problem. The word retarded was never uttered, except by me, when describing the author Laura Kate, who actually is retarded. No, the words used were ‘Retort it’. The song was sung by a Japanese singer with a strong accent and anyone with half a brain knows that means sometimes English words don’t always sound like you might expect.

Fortunately the backlash against the SJW rag and its author was swift and vicious with both of them attempting to blame each other and throw one another under the bus to get out from under the scrutiny. Bounding into Comics has all the gory details.

After a day of being blasted Kotaku finally released an article apologizing for the foul up:

“It looks like we got it wrong. We screwed up: sorry.”

    –Rich Stanton (kotaku Editor)

But was it really a mistake…I remain skeptical. From what I’ve heard and seen the website is a virtue-signaling cesspit. I wouldn’t put it past them to falsely accuse anyone as long as it provided them with more clicks.

Charlize Theron Has No Business Being A Parent

Actress Charlize Theron in a recent interview with the Daily Mail admitted that she is treating her 7 year-old boy Jackson as a ‘girl’.

“Yes, I thought she was a boy, too…Until she looked at me when she was three years old and said, ‘I am not a boy!’”

Umm, Charlize. A three-year old does not have the intellectual nor emotional capacity to tell you they are ‘in the wrong body’. A human-being must at least be past the stage of puberty before you start declaring what they are or aren’t.

Anything else is child abuse and you should not be around much less raising children. Contributing to the emotional damage of your adopted child to score ‘woke’ points should be more than enough grounds to have those rights revoked.

    Absolutely disgusting.
