I Am Mother Trailer
Directed by Grant Sputore and written by Michael Lloyd Green, Netflix’s I Am Mother tells the tale of a woman(Hilary Swank) who delivers some shocking news to a teenager (Clara Rugaard) who has been raised by a robot and was told that she was the only human left alive.
This has a ‘we’re going to rip off the Matrix’ vibe going for it but I hope I’m wrong. James Kirk asked the classic question ‘What does God need with a starship’. I ask…what do robots need from humans?
This film’s answer to that question will determine its fate.
Tucci and Rock Join The Witches Reboot
Robert Zemeckis who did the highly underrated Beowulf (awesome movie) is taking on Roald Dahl’s 1983 novel The Witches and Chris Rock and Stanley Tucci are getting in on the fun. They are joining Anne Hathaway, Octavia Spencer, Jahzir Kadeem Bruno and Codie-Lei Eastick.
While I have general faith in Zemeckis I can’t say that I have any with this project as two of the writers on it are Kenya Barris and Guillermo Del Toro. Barris seems to be one of those folks who never made it past the ‘my skin is brown’ phase of adolescence and the good Del Toro has simply fell into the Woke well never to be seen again leaving behind this bad entity that brought us garbage like ‘The Shape of Water’.
Yes, I will trash him and that movie at every possible opportunity.

Mel Gibson Is Santa Clause
Actor and Director Extraordinaire Mel Gibson is taking on a lighter, well, actually dark comedy as Old Saint Nick like we’ve never seen him before in the action comedy Fatman. Gibson’s character’s business is declining but matters grow were as a spoiled kid hires a hitman to rub him out after he receives coal in his stocking.
The film will be written and directed by Ian and Eshom Nelms.
We’ve seen quite a few Bad Santa’s come out of Hollywood over the past two decades, let’s hope that this one is the good kind of bad.
