GeekTyrant reports that Hulu just announced a surprisingly solid voice cast for Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K. – a darkly humorous cartoon following a Marvel supervillain who tries to balance his family life with conquering the world all the while coping with a mid-life crisis. Among them: Patton Oswalt (Veep, Happy) as M.O.D.O.K.; Aimee Garcia (Dexter) as his wife Jodie; Melissa Fumero (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) as their daughter Melissa, and Beck Bennet (Saturday Night Live) and Wendi McLendon-Covey (The Goldbergs) as M.O.D.O.K.’s competitors within and outside his villainous organization A.I.M. The rest of the cast includes Jon Daly (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Sam Richardson (Veep) and Ben Schwartz (Parks and Recreation).
About a year ago Marvel and Hulu first announced they’ll be collaborating on a series of animated TV shows based on various Marvel Comics characters. And while Ghost Rider show and a Tigra & Dazzler cartoon came to nothing, M.O.D.O.K. keeps chugging along. M.O.D.O.K. – an acronym for Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing – was created by Stan Lee and Josh Kirby back in 1967. Mostly memorable due to his grotesquely over-sized head on an underdeveloped body, M.O.D.O.K. appeared as a villain in various Marvel comic books over the last fifty years. As for his cartoon version, Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K. will air sometime this year on Hulu.
