HBO Max Renews Raised by Wolves

GeekTyrant reports HBO Max renewed its science fiction TV series Raised by Wolves a week before its first season finale. Head of HBO Max Sarah Aubrey released the statement praising the show for its artistry while also boasting about its enthusiastic reception by the audience. Ridley Scott, one of the show’s executive producers, similarly commended Raised by Wolves and hinted that its creator Aaron Guzikowski has already begun outlining season two.

Co-produced by Ridley Scott’s own company, Scott Free Productions, Raised by Wolves takes place in the distant future where a pair of androids – Mother (Amanda Collin) and Father (Abubakar Salim) – escape the war-torn Earth and colonize an unknown world in an attempt to raise human children from embryos. Before creating this series, Guzikowski wrote Dennis Villeneuve’s 2013 psychological thriller Prisoners as well as the 2014 TV show The Red Road.

Raised by Wolves first aired on September 3, 2020. Critics were divided in their response. While some praised the show’s ambition, imagery, and cast’s performances, others criticized it for being too cerebral and lacking momentum.
