    Halloween Trailer #1

The eleventh installment of the Halloween franchise is in full hype mode. This latest trip down Myers lane helmed by David Gordon Green (Manglehorn, (2014), Goat (2016)), co-written by Danny Mcbride, Jeff Fradley, and Green and starring Jamie Lee Curtis, who is reprising her role as Laurie Strode, has the Geeks all a buzz…for reasons that escape me.

Curtis (A Hillary supporter) was also in the lackluster Halloween: Resurrection (2002). Her presence in that film didn’t do much to help it.

They have been pushing this really hard on social media so perhaps that has contributed to the film’s awareness. But will it be all for naught? I’m not familiar with David Gordon Green’s work…a lot of the movies on his resume I intentionally avoided as they looked like crap. But you never know…let’s have a look at the trailer!

    “Excuse me, somebody’s in here.”

The sprinkling of the teeth seems decidedly out of character. I don’t remember Michael ever doing anything like that in the first two flicks (the only ones I think were any good). Sure, he would wear a disguise to get close to his victims but he always was pretty straight to business when it came to the killing. I don’t think he gave a fig if his victims were afraid or not. Which would be the only point of the teeth thing. That’s the sort of thing Freddy Krueger would do.

Best thing about the trailer…the iconic Carpenter music. Worst thing…Curtis’s jowls. Yikes.

Halloween starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, Will Patton, Virginia Gardner, James Jude Courtney, Omar J. Dorsey, Miles Robbins, Dylan Robbin…enough already creeps into theaters October 19, 2018.
