Martin gibbered on his blog about the shows ending and offered more gobbledygook about what his ending would possibly be like compared to what has been done in the wildly panned series ending:
“How will it all end? I hear people asking. The same ending as the show? Different?
Well… yes. And no. And yes. And no. And yes. And no. And yes.
…
Book or show, which will be the “real” ending? It’s a silly question. How many children did Scarlett O’Hara have?
How about this? I’ll write it. You read it. Then everyone can make up their own mind, and argue about it on the internet.”
Whatever you say George. If you don’t want to be bothered to read his entire screed it summarizes as “Books and TV are different mediums”. How insightful.
As if the fat blob is ever going to finish either of the remaining novels. I suspect he’s too terrified to complete them now. Better to live in the minds of his fans as a ‘what might be’ versus an actual ‘that’s it?’. After all this time these novels would have to be the stuff of legend and frankly, I don’t think he has it in him…and I suspect, neither does he.
He’ll string the fans along for another decade until he up and falls face first into his food dish and leaves the wrapping up of the books to someone else.
Probably Brandon Sanderson.
