The Arrowverse Elseworlds crossover is fast approaching. This will mark the fifth crossover event for the Greg Berlanti shepherded universe. In this crossover, Doctor John Deegan of Arkham Asylum rewrites reality resulting in Barry Allen and Oliver Queen swapping lives. Only they are aware that something is wrong and must work to set things right. The crossover takes place in The Flash (part 1) Season 5, Episode 9, Arrow (part 2) Season 7, Episode 9, and Supergirl (part 3) Season 4, Episode 9.
Toruk's Take“That’s not Batman.”
Recently I decided to check out the first episode of Arrow’s sixth season. I’ve been putting off watching it and The Flash because I wasn’t sure what I was in for politically. Supergirl had the effect of slipping someone a Pepsi spiked with urine, it left you mentally scarred and distrustful of all those around you. Surprisingly, I didn’t detect anything too egregious, but that doesn’t mean it was good. In fact, the fight choreography, dare I say the directing all around was pretty awful. I don’t know if they brought on a new team or the old one simply doesn’t care anymore but it was pretty darn shoddy. Every ten minutes you had a group of costumed folks paired off making chop-socky sounds at each other in a very perfunctory manner (“Hiyah, Hooh, Hah, Ahh, Oof, Heyoh”). We put together more exciting fight scenes when we were kids for crying out loud.
With that said..it was still better than the Marvel Netflix shows. That there is downright sad. As the SJW’s and NPC’s like to say: Shame! Shame! shame Marvel.
I might work up the courage to finish the rest of the season but there is no way in Tartarus I’m going to watch Supergirl I don’t care what kind of ‘incentive’ they lob my way. Supergirl is dead to me. A death well earned with season 2.
Ah yes, the teaser. Not much to go by, the Batwoman costume looks alright. Ruby has some sexy lips, maybe too sexy. She looks very feminine…someone is bound to complain…not non-binary enough.
What’s up with the ‘Dare to Defy’ jazz? Don’t like the sound of it, but maybe I’m reading too much into it. Hmm…something else is bothering me about this teaser. The scene at Arkham Asylum where the prisoners were running loose looked really, really cheap. Bargain basement cheap. Maybe all the shows had their budgets cut, that would explain a few things.
To the Batmobile Robin, time to investigate…
