Dolly Parton Gets A Netflix Show…

In Jugg news. The still lovely Dolly Parton (9 to 5 (1980), Steel Magnolias (1989)) actress and songbird for over half a century has garnered herself an 8 episode Netflix anthology series.

Dolly Parton at the Los Angeles Premiere of “Joyful Noise” held at the Grauman’s Chinese Theater, California, United States on January 9, 2012.

Parton’s Dixie Dixie Productions will be producing the series, where each episode will reportedly be based on a song written by her. Parton will appear in the series and serve as executive producer.

Some words from Parton about the show:

“As a songwriter, I have always enjoyed telling stories through my music,” Parton said. “I am thrilled to be bringing some of my favorite songs to life with Netflix. We hope our show will inspire and entertain families and folks of all generations, and I want to thank the good folks at Netflix and Warner Bros. TV for their incredible support.”

Dolly is my kind of celebrity. She doesn’t talk politics and if you try to force her she’ll tell you where you can stick it. We need more like her.
