Last week, Disney announced a major reshuffle of its upcoming releases due to pandemic. Now SlashFilm reports Mouse House just changed two additional release dates. Disney moved Pixar’s CGI-animated feature film Soul from June 19, 2020, to November 20, 2020. Disney’s Raya and the Last Dragon occupied that slot previously. Now, this epic fantasy adventure film comes out on March 12, 2021.
This isn’t the only Disney news. AVClub says Disney is developing yet another remake of its beloved classic. This time, it’s the 1973 animated film Robin Hood with its cast of humanoid animals. What isn’t clear is what kind of remake are we talking about here? Will it be live-action just like any other Robin Hood film? Or will it be populated by dead-eyed CGI facsimiles of real animals like The Lion King remake? Or maybe, new Robin Hood will combine the worst of both worlds by employing actors and then adding CGI fur to them like the last year’s gloriously horrifying Cats musical? Only time will tell!
