Derek Kolstad is already writing a sequel to the action thriller Nobody. Or at least, this is what the film’s director Ilya Naishuller (Hardcore Henry) claimed in a recent interview, as reported by the AVClub.
Nobody is an action thriller in which the titular character – played by Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul) – gets entangled with a Russian mob after a botched burglary of his house, eventually going on a roaring rampage of revenge. Featuring Michael Ironside (Turbo Kid), Connie Nielsen (Wonder Woman) Christopher Lloyd (Sin City: A Dame to Kill For), and RZA (The Dead Don’t Die), the film was produced for a mere $16 million. It came out in cinemas this March, earning over $60 million – a substantial sum, considering we are still in the middle of the global pandemic.
Kolstad wrote the first John Wick as well as both of its sequels. In addition, he is a co-executive producer on Marvel’s recent mini-series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. He is currently working on a screenplay adaptation of Just Cause series of action-adventure games by Avalanche Studios and Square Enix.
