Collider reports that Christian Bale is in talks to appear in Marvel’s Thor: Love and Thunder. At the moment of this writing, the studio still hasn’t commented on this. Best known for his portrayal of Batman in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, Bale recently starred in the sports drama Ford v Ferrari. It is as yet unknown what character would he play in the fourth Thor movie.
If Bale signs on, he’ll appear opposite Chris Hemsworth as the former god of thunder. Tessa Thompson will reprise her performance as Valkyrie while Natalie Portman will once again play Dr. Jane Foster who might become the new Thor in the upcoming film. In 2017, New Zealand filmmaker Taika Waititi (What We Do in the Shadows, Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Jojo Rabbit) directed Thor: Ragnarok, now widely considered the most entertaining out three Marvel films featuring the Norse superhero. Its commercial and critical success led to Marvel hiring Waititi to helm the production of the fourth film as well. Waititi will also once again voice alien warrior Korg in the film.
Thor: Love and Thunder is set for a release on November 5, 2021.
