Written and directed by Michael Pearce, the British psychological thriller Beast first premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and is now set for release in the US and the UK. The film stars Irish warbler Jessie Buckley as Moll, a troubled woman who falls for a mysterious stranger, Pascal, played by another musician, Johnny Flynn. Together, it would seem Michael Pearce would have them both perform a symphony of violence for us moviegoers.

Good trailer. I wasn’t really interested based on the film description alone, but it built nicely, slowly edging into more disturbing imagery. Some might say it showed too much but I think it was just about right, I might actually watch this now as a result.
