Directed by William Brent Bell and written by Stacey Menear Brahms: The Boy II follows a young boy whose family has moved into the Heelshire Mansion and befriends the porcelain doll Brahms.
Toruk's TakeI thought The Boy (2016) was good right up until the ‘big reveal’ which at point the film completely fell apart for me. Just…utterly ridiculous. One might find this ironic considering that horror often deals with the supernatural. So perhaps, ridiculous isn’t the right word. Lame, pedantic, cheesy or silly are more apt.
You see…without any supernatural element the story is just about some wackjob living within the walls of the house playing a perpetual game of make believe. I find that premise neither compelling or interesting.
This trailer looks like they are attempting the same bait and switch again. Giving the perception that the doll has supernatural elements.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice…I don’t think so.
No dice.
