Ever since It became one of the most successful horror movies in cinematic history, adaptations of Stephen King’s works just keep on coming. Among them, there is a new miniseries version of The Stand as well as movie adaptations of novels From a Buick 8, The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, Roadwork, The Long Walk and The Eyes of the Dragon.
And once you run out of original King, you can always film a remake. This is why it is hardly surprising that FX is working on a limited series based on Stephen King’s Carrie. According to Collider, this network will allegedly once again team up with MGM, just as it did for Fargo. When it comes to TV shows, FX has an impressive track record. The network produced, among others, shows like American Crime Story, American Horror Story, Atlanta, Fargo, Feud and What We Do in the Shadows.
First published in 1974, Carrie was a novel that catapulted King to bestseller lists and into fame. It tells a story of a 13-year old Carrie White, an unpopular high school misfit who develops telekinetic powers and wreaks havoc on her tormentors. Two years later, Brian de Palma directed the movie version with Sissy Spacek in the leading role. That film was followed by a 1999 sequel, a 2002 television adaptation, and a 2013 movie starring Chloë Grace Moretz.
