Two new actors just joined the growing cast of Lana Wachowski’s upcoming Matrix 4. GeekTyrant reports one of them is Jonathan Groff, best known for his role as the FBI Agent Holden Ford on David Fincher’s Netflix series The Mindhunter. A fairly versatile performer, Groff appeared on shows like Glee and Looking while also working as a voice actor, voicing Kristoff in Disney’s Frozen movies. The other actor is Toby Onwumere, who already collaborated with Wachowskis on their TV series Sense8 as well as appearing on the TV show Empire.
Groff and Onwumere are the most recent additions in what is shaping out to be a fairly decent cast. Carrie-Ann Moss, Keanu Reeves, and Jada Pinkett Smith will be all reprising their performances from earlier films. They will be joined by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Aquaman, Watchmen), Neil Patrick Harris (Gone Girl, How I Met Your Mother) and Jessica Henwick (Iron Fist). Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell are writing the script. Hamon previously worked on Sense8 as a screenwriter, while Mitchell is most notable for his 2004 best-selling novel Cloud Atlas. Even though the plot details are as yet unclear, the filming of Matrix 4 should begin next year.
