Written and Directed by Nicolas Pesce The Grudge is the fourth installment of the Grudge film series. In this, a mother and detective encounter a cursed suburban house where all who enter are doomed with a violent end.
I think Lin Shaye needs to have a talk with her agent and maybe take a step back and think about the roles she has been accepting. Her face is starting to be associated with really bad horror. I’d hate for that to be her legacy. You know…just step back, reassess. Perhaps don’t jump at every thing they put before you. Yikes. Quick cuts and jump scares. I’m not sure why Nicolas Pesce thought that would be a good way to ‘revamp’ the series. Extraordinarily poor choice. The other entries may not have been perfect but they did have the decency not to resort to these lame gimmicks. It could just be this trailer but as it stands this looks like pure crap on the horizon. Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert…for shame.Toruk's Take
The Grudge starring Andrea Riseborough, Demián Bichir, John Cho, Betty Gilpin, Lin Shaye, and Jacki Weaver bores theater goers January 3, 2020.
