Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, and Sam Neill will reprise their roles as Ellie Sattler, Ian Malcolm and Alan Grant in the upcoming Jurassic World 3, says Variety. The trio of actors will appear alongside Chris Pratt as the dinosaur handler Owen Grady and Bryce Dallas Howard as the dinosaur rights activist Claire Dearing. The movie will be directed by Colin Trevorrow, who also co-wrote the script alongside Emily Carmichael (Pacific Rim: Uprising). Steven Spielberg, who filmed the first Jurassic Park 26 years ago, will produce the film.
In 2015 Trevorrow directed Jurassic World as a soft reboot of the Jurassic Park series. His film went on to earn over $1.6 billion worldwide. Three years later, J.A. Bayona made Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom that grossed $1.3 billion. While the details of the plot are still not known, the story will pick up after the events of the second film in which genetically recreated dinosaurs were released into the wilderness of North America. The current release date for Jurassic World 3 is June 21, 2021.
