The power of the people prevails. Due to the “Sonic the Hedgehog” blacklash regarding his character design, Paramount Pictures is pushing the movie back three months. The design was poorly received mainly because fans found his eyes, teeth, and legs off-putting compared to the original design so the movie will now be showing Feb. 14. Director Jeff Fowler tweeted that they are “taking a little more time to make Sonic just right.”

Fowler addressed the initial backlash earlier this month stating “The message is loud and clear… you aren’t happy with the design & you want changes,” he tweeted. “It’s going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be… #sonicmovie #gottafixfast.”

It seems that Paramount is taking the criticism seriously so we can expect them to have their best working on a redesign to do the beloved character justice. They have their work cut out for them as they will be competing with Fox’s Kingsman: The Great Game the same day.
