So cinematographer Morgan Cooper released a trailer titled Bel-Air that featured a darker more dramatic take on the classic 90’s TV show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, which we know launched now famous actor Will Smith into super-stardom. The new interpretation of the story stirred excitement from many including Will himself; he was so inspired he posted an entire interview alongside Cooper to explain why.
“This is the first time that I heard something and I was like ‘Yo, that’s an idea that is brilliant.’” he said during his interview with Cooper.
He expressed how excited he was with today’s generation being able to pitch ideas freely through media outlets such as YouTube, and how the show would be able to tap into an underlining narrative that would be impossible to reach for a sitcom comedy compared to a hour long drama.
With Will Smith himself backing this idea I hope some important key holders will too because the trailer looks great. Check it out here if you haven’t already.
