Directed by Chad Stahelski and written by Derek Kolstad, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum finds John Wick (Keanu Reeves) trying to fight his way out of New York City after his assassination of Santino D’Antonio. He finds himself aided by a hit-woman (Halle Berry), a close friend who still trusts him.
“A $14 million dollar bounty on his head, and everyone in the city wants a piece of it…I’d say the odds are about even.”
Toruk's Take I think I’ve mentioned before that I was fairly unmoved by the second entry in the John Wick franchise. It’s not just because I find Common to be wholly unbearable and Ruby Rose to be generally a block of wood. I thought the story was fairly pedestrian with some bizarre logic gaps in the narrative. But I really, really liked the first movie and the universe that was built so I’m more than willing to give it another go. So let’s take a look… Hmmn. I’d say the weak link here is definitely Halle Berry. If this is going to work she is going to have to wow the audience with some serious brutality (and zero SJW interjections). Unfortunately…nothing in Halle Berry’s filmography suggest she can pull that off. But hey…stranger things have happened.
