Directed by Michael Dougherty (X-Men: Apocalypse) and co-written by Dougherty, Max Borenstein and Zach Shields, Godzilla: King of the Monsters is the sequel to Godzilla (2014). In this offering, several god-sized monsters (Mothra, Rodan, King Ghidorah and Godzilla) thought to be myths battle for supremacy of the planet.

“The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. Well, it certainly looks bombastic.
I didn’t realize that Dougherty directed the horrific X-Men: Apocalypse so my expectations of the final film have been lowered…substantially. X-Men Apocalypse, that was bombastic too…it was also quite, quite horrible. Can’t argue with the visuals though. They cut a nice trailer and perhaps, perhaps it is indicative of what will be seen in the theaters.
Side note, what’s with the ending? We have teasers preceding trailers…now we have, what, trailer finishers? Egads.
