According to Variety, after testing multiple actresses for the Warner Bros./DC Entertainment film Birds of Prey starring Margot Robbie, sources have revealed that Jurnee Smollett-Bell and Mary Elizabeth Winstead will be playing Black Canary and The Huntress respectively. Cathy Yan is directing the film with Margot Robbie reprising her role as Harley Quinn as well as serving as a producer. The characters in the film are said to be up against a yet-to-revealed crime lord.
The film is scheduled to be released on Feb. 7, 2020.
Toruk's TakeIf I only had one word to use. Disgusting would be it. Race-bending, SJW trashfire would my other choices if allotted. Any smidgen of interest I had in this project is gone. The PC nonsense needs to come to an end. The race-bending needs to come to an end. Anyone who engages in it doesn't see a dime from me and everyone else should follow suit.
Diversity is not achieved by erasing existing characters. Pale skin does not mean empty canvas. The only 'achievement' here is desecration. But then maybe that's the goal all along. Take that which some enjoy and render it abhorrent so that they no longer want to be near it. To gradually strip away all that some hold dear. To erase their idols. To erase their dreams.To erase their history.
I read somewhere that this sort of thing was the prelude to the eradication of a civilization. I wonder, what would happen if we treated the perpetrators of these acts...as if they were trying to do just that?
