I’ve been cautiously optimistic about this film. I thought the first trailer had some very good moments. I’m still weary of Robert Rodriguez…there was a time when James Cameron being a producer would have assuaged all my concerns. I’m sad to say that too many of ‘the greats’ have let me down in recent years. In this day and age, it’s ‘I’ll believe it when I see it’.
And with that…let’s take a look:
‘I’m with her.’
Oooo…I really wish they didn’t put that line in there. Negative association galore. Are they trying to signify their allegiance to Hillary Clinton? Could they possibly be that stupid?? Or…are they, perhaps, trying to reappropriate the affirmation so that it has a less despicable light? Are they throwing the SJW’s a bone so that they won’t trash the movie? Am I overthinking this??
Man, I really don’t think the folks in Hollywood understand how serious this culture war is. This is not something you want to get involved in…you really, really don’t.
The sad part is I was digging the trailer until the end there. They kept the big eyes, which is good, but deliberately avoided some of the scenes where she looked a little quirky. The action seemed smooth..maybe a tad too cartoony in some spots, I would have slowed down some of the movements and emphasized the characters weight more. But these are nit-pics. Overall I liked what I saw.
As for that line…I really hope this movie is played straight. Agenda free. If they go the Last Jedi route I will nuke them at every opportunity I get.
Ugh…like the Joker said in The Dark Knight…”very poor choice of words”.
