Deadline reports that Guillermo del Toro The Shape of Water (2017) and who is also behind Netflix’s Emmy-winning animated series DreamWorks Trollhunters is bringing another series to Netflix, this one entitled: Guillermo del Toro Presents 10 After Midnight. It’s described as a set of sophisticated and horrific, personally curated stories. del Toro will write and direct a few episodes but most of them will be completed by a team of “Top horror writers” chosen by him and apparently some up and coming directors to boot. del Toro and The Shape of Water producer Miles Dale will produce alongside Exile Entertainment’s Gary Ungar.
I’ve said it numerous times I find del Toro these days to be hit or miss, I thought The Shape of Water was a massive bore. However, I still haven’t seen The Strain yet so maybe I’ll dig that. Trollhunters didn’t interest me but I’ll probably check this latest series out to see if it’s any good. My hopes aren’t high though. The virtue-signaling with del Toro has been pretty high of late and that pretty much kills the quality of any piece of material that’s infested with it .
