Alexandre Aja has directed a fair amount of horror flicks. High Tension (2003), The Hills Have Eyes (2006), Piranha 3D (2010), Horns (2013) and the only one of his oeuvre that I actually like: Mirrors (2008) starring Kiefer Sutherland and Paula Patton. Maybe I’ll enjoy his next horror film as well.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that Mr. Aja is teaming up with horror/comedy movie icon Sam Raimi (a man’s whose work needs no introduction) to produce a horror movie for Paramount Pictures (currently still high off their success with the horror flick A Quiet Place). Aja will be directing while Raimi plays the role of the money man (Producer).
What is this Crawl movie about?
“Crawl centers on a young woman who, while struggling to save her father during a Category 5 hurricane, finds herself trapped inside a flooding house and fighting for her life against Florida’s most savage and feared predators”
They don’t specify who these “feared predators” are. Unfortunately that leaves it up to ones imagination. I dare not share what I think these predators may consist of for fear of sounding racist…or speciesist? Not sure that’s a word and Grammarly has failed me once again.
Well, I guess we’ll have to wait for the trailer to find out.
So exciting!
