Warner Bros. Developing The Lost Boys Remake

BloodyDisgusting reports Warner Bros. is working on a remake of the 1987 horror classic The Lost Boys. According to the article, the studio cast the first two actors: Noah Jupe (A Quiet Place, The Undoing) and Jaeden Martell (It, Knives Out, Midnight Special). Jonathan Entwistle – who previously worked on Netflix TV shows The End of the F***ing World and I Am Not Okay with This – will direct. Randy McKinnon, who is currently adapting the superhero comic book Static Shock will produce the script.

The CW has been working on its Lost Boys TV series at least since 2019. However, that project has some trouble. Last we heard about it was before the pandemic when the network ordered a completely new pilot and recast most of the actors on the show.

For those among you who may be unfamiliar with it, The Lost Boys is a vampire horror movie by Joel Schumacher (Flatliners, Phone Booth). The film follows brothers Michael (Jason Patric – The Losers) and Sam (Corey Haim – Crank: High Voltage) who learn there’s a gang of vampires preying upon the tourists in their seaside town. The bloodsuckers are led by charismatic David Powers (Kiefer Sutherland – who later collaborated with Schumacher several times). The film became a hit in cinemas and a cult classic, leading to two sequels and a stage musical.
